Aesthetic Alliteration

by Jordan Green

lips leaning listen now
this aesthetic whisper molds me
breathing under wraps
and sleeping over silence
defeated by my body's army
hanging on a single rope
entwined inside my jewelry box
and all this fault is mine

ribbon rimming rinsing eyes
staring at no one and smiling
in the dewy shade under that tree
that complex and complicated feeling
of tying my hands behind
my beautiful lower back, struggling
to grasp my palms and stop my breath
kick the can at nighttime

hands having heartless luck
shivering fingers scrape my skin
pulling away at my vicious face
reaching toward your turning head
and buckling under all this weight
shoving dirt in every niche of me
sobbing, crying, misery stricken
scowling in this mirror fading
